A Heritage Christmas at Burnaby Village Museum
Travel back in time at the Burnaby Village Museum to experience an old-fashioned storybook Christmas.

Along with a visit from Father Christmas, guests can enjoy creative displays inspired by children’s stories of the 1920s to 1950s including The Nutcracker, The Gingerbread House and Twas the Night Before Christmas.

From now until January 1st, the museum presents a variety of festive and fun-filled activities for the whole family including traditional crafts for children, schoolhouse story time, Christmas baking in the Farmhouse, children's entertainers, choirs, demonstrations, exhibits and more.

For many, Christmas is about memories - both reviving the old and creating new ones, says Nancy Stagg at the Burnaby Village Museum. Heritage Christmas at Burnaby Village Museum lets visitors experience Christmas traditions from the past and reminds them of their own Christmas memories. At the Burnaby Village Museum, Christmas traditions from the past come alive through sparkling decorations, the smell of pine and cedar, and sounds of carollers reminding visitors of their own Christmas memories.

For kids of all ages, The Footlight Theatre Company returns this season with a memorable performance of Little Red Riding Hood. (Admission to these performances is included with museum entrance.)

Musicians, entertainers, demonstrators, storytellers, community choirs and heritage crafts are also scheduled throughout this celebratory season.

With festive lights, period ornaments and a visit from Father Christmas, Burnaby Village Museum is the perfect place to celebrate an old-fashioned Christmas.
